Prophetic Sign: Deepwater Horizon - Doug Addison

Have you noticed that we have entered into a new spiritual season? I sure have. Things that used to work are no longer as effective. I am hearing God in an entirely different way than I was just a few months ago. God is shifting gears and just like when a car shifts into a higher gear, the engine is running as loudly or as fast as it can and the speed then begins to pick up. This is called new spiritual momentum. Those who are spiritually discerning are usually the first to pick up on it. Here’s some insight into some new things we are experiencing right now.
Notice that there have been two major problems in the US that have baffled the experts. One was the Sudden Acceleration Syndrome in which cars began to speed up. I wrote about this earlier this year in that it is symbolic of what God is doing in the spirit. God is beginning to “suddenly” accelerate many people into their destinies and it may even be confusing people around you.
The second thing that we should take note of is the oil gushing in the Gulf of Mexico. There is so much symbolism in this tragic event. The name of the rig that exploded is The Deepwater Horizon. Water and oil both represent the Spirit. It is a symbolic announcement that God is releasing something new and deep in the spirit that can not be stopped. This next move of God will be messy. It occurred on April 20th which, on the Gregorian Calendar (internationally accepted as the leap year calendar) is the 111th day. Also 11 people were killed. The number 11 often represents transition into something new. I don’t think that God caused the oil spill, but things that happen in the natural realm often are symbolic to things happening in the spiritual.
As we transition into the new it is important to not bring things from the old season into the new. I’m not just talking about things we struggle with. We need to make room for God to widen our horizon. Being prophetic I often experience things that are going on in the spiritual realm. Earlier this year I felt God direct me to be “totally different” and not worry about what people think. Oh my! What would that look like? Well I started noticing that God’s presence could be released and supernatural manifestations of His power could come through secular songs and stand-up comedy.
I began this year determined to be “a future Christian living in the present Church.” I have seen God’s power hit the room as I played a Rod Stewart song. I have gotten feedback that people are getting supernatural breakthrough of debt relief through my, “Laugh Your Debt Off” sessions. What’s next, supernatural weight loss with, “Laugh your butt off?” More Lord … I mean less Lord … ! We are sitting on something big and a new movement from God is coming soon. No pun intended.
