The Internet: The Next Generation’s Revival
Doug Addison

In 1992 I was at a conference in which the presence of God came and the speaker, John Paul Jackson, instructed us to write down three visions we were about to have. He told us that these visions will surely come to pass in our lives. I was amazed at the clarity of the visions that came to me about my own life. In the years following, all three have come to pass . One of them was about introducing new technology into the Church that will help bring revival. Within a year of having the first vision, I launched a new career in the area of high technology. Ten years later I joined the staff of John Paul’s ministry and began development of a dream interpretation training website, which was later developed by someone else into a very effective internet training website. My call from God has always been to find creative ways through media to reach the world for Jesus Christ.

Aimee Semple McPherson and Rex Humbard
Aimee Semple McPherson was among the first to have a radio station dedicated to broadcasting the gospel in the 1920s. Rex Humbard was the first to have a weekly church service broadcast, and was the first to have a Christian television network. Both of them were evangelists and were forerunners with their callings to reach the world through media. In 2004 I went into Angelus Temple in Los Angeles, which was Aimee’s first Four Square church, and I asked God to give me any task that she was not able to accomplish in her lifetime. Long story short, within a year I received a grant from the Four Square Foundation for $125,000. God used this experience to show me that the prayer I prayed worked and that He can turn things around in a day.

I was in Akron, Ohio in August, 2009 and God spoke to me that I was not to visit my family as I had planned, but instead I was to go pray at my mother’s grave site. I did it but did not know exactly why until I was leaving the cemetery. To my surprise I saw Rex Humbard’s grave! I went to it and did the same type of prayer I did with Aimee McPherson. I asked God to give me any task that Rex Humbard was not able to fulfill before he died. I first came to know Jesus under Rex’s ministry in the 1970s as a teenager in Akron, Ohio. His ministry had financial problems and was shut down prematurely in the early 1980s. His plan at that time was to take the Gospel to the entire world using television.

The untapped resource
Today, the internet is where radio and television were for McPherson and Humbard. It really is an untapped medium that is currently dominated by advertisements and pornography. It is similar to the time of Jesus in which roads had been built by the Romans that went worldwide, and there was one common language, Greek. This allowed the gospel to be taken to the world by the early disciples. The internet is the new worldwide superhighway, and with language converters we can all speak a common language. No matter what country you go to people are using Google®, eBay®, Amazon®, Facebook® and other web-based programs.

I am awestruck by the fact that God would allow me to encounter in my life the first two evangelists to utilize media to reach the world. I have been asking God for new strategies for using the internet to emulate them. It is more than just streaming church services and putting up sermon podcasts, though there is value in doing this. I feel that God is calling us to develop new “reality” type of internet shows that are creative, original, and deal with real life issues. As an evangelist I am often surprised at the number of people outside of Christianity who have no idea that God and His people can still do supernatural acts of healing, dream interpretation, prophecy, and have fun!  I also want to provide truly interactive internet schools of ministry unlike anything we have seen so far.

A vision from Bob Jones
In 2007 the prophet Bob Jones had a vision in which God had given me a hacksaw and I was cutting into the wires that connect computers together. In his vision I was able to cut into these computer wires and short circuit the plans of the enemy and place God’s glory into the computers instead. One of my first jobs after I began pursuing my calling to ministry was that of a computer network engineer. I have extensive experience in wide-area networks and owned a networking business in the 1990s. I have always been involved in technology, though now I am more of a creative prophetic writer, speaker and evangelistic guru.

Responding
I began doing webinars two years ago as a response to Bob Jones’ vision. Since then, we have suffered attack, my website was hacked, and my ministry almost went under this year due to lack of finances. False reports have been released on the internet about me and other ministries and churches have spoken against me. I know that it is the enemy trying to discourage me from my ultimate calling to reach the world through business and technology. In the past couple of years I began to prophecy into the lives of business people and just recently we are seeing the millions of dollars being released into the Kingdom of God as a result.

We need a new strategy for doing church and ministry. We are sitting on what I believe is one of the biggest opportunities in a very long time to reach those who don’t know God. As the economy has taken a downturn and there are lots of prophecies about dark times to come. I have felt God telling me instead to prophesy to Christians and Christian business people to rise up and seize opportunities that God is making available right now. It is time for churches and ministries to utilize new technology and even consider developing for-profit ventures to finance their non-profit organizations. New ideas and creativity are currently being released from Heaven. Let’s grab hold of all that God has for us in this particular time in history. I believe that God is releasing finances to begin to take the gospel to the word like never before.

Next steps
God is directing us to take some initial steps to develop a global internet school of ministry. This will be a combination of prerecorded events and live interactive training in the areas of hearing God, understanding dreams and visions, developing your spiritual gifts, and finding your destiny. We will develop an online community so that individuals and churches can be trained at a minimal cost. The entire project will unfold organically over time. But for now we need to get the initial website going and the training courses in place.

We need to raise $5,000 for the first phase and an additional $5,000 for the second phase later in the year. Please prayerfully consider partnering with us in this new project that will ultimately impact the world for Jesus Christ.

A New Sound from Heaven Awakens a Young Generation
by Doug Addison

New sound from Heaven
I keep hearing God speaking over and over to me that there is a new sound that has already been released from Heaven. I have heard prophecies about a new sound coming and many musicians and worship leaders are searching for it. I have not yet heard this new Heavenly sound in any church but I can’t stop hearing it in the spirit.

Music sets the pace for everything. Since God is doing something new in the earth right now, it is only appropriate that it would flow through music as well. Anointed music communicates God’s desire and intention for each of us individually, for our church, our region and our generation. Worship music is not just leading songs that prepare our hearts to hear the Word of God, though there is great value in this. Worship is the cry of the Holy Spirit to lead us into His paths and higher purposes. The new sound will overtake us like a storm and will be different than the way we currently worship. It will catch the ear of a younger generation that has yet to experience God the way many of us have in the past. Prophetic music, radical dance, new songs, and art will be major keys to the new sound and will ultimately usher in one of the biggest revivals in Church history. Just as in previous moves of God, not everyone in the Church will receive the new sound or even recognize it is from God.

Revelation 14:2-4 NIV
And I heard a sound from heaven like the roar of rushing waters and like a loud peal of thunder. The sound I heard was like that of harpists playing their harps. And they sang a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders. No one could learn the song except the 144,000 who had been redeemed from the earth.

Learn from the last new sound
In the 1960’s a new sound from Great Britain swept the U.S. and the world. The Beatles came on the scene with a sound that took the essence of rhythm and blues and added a faster beat with a fun and exciting feeling to it. Most of their lyrics caused a generation of young people to feel empowered. But there was something special about that music that was almost anointed. James Ryle, in his book, Sons of Thunder, said that God showed him that the Beatles had a call of God but through circumstances and bad choices, they never found their greater destiny in the Kingdom of God. As a result, their gifts and music were used to usher in the biggest movement of Middle Eastern religion in U.S. history. God inspired the new sound and music but the enemy distorted it.

I often wonder if someone had prophetically recognized that a new sound was coming, could they have helped the Beatles discover their Kingdom gifts and callings? Had the Church known back in the early 1960’s that the new sound from Heaven was already in the pubs of Hamburg, Germany and Liverpool, England, would they have believed it?

I am declaring prophetically that the new sound is already on the earth today. Just as the Beatles influenced a generation away from God, so this new sound from Heaven will bring masses of this young generation to Him. This time it will not be stolen by the enemy.

Rock-n-roll music was not liked by the older generation. Churches tried to hold it back instead of embracing it as something that originated from God’s heart to reach young people, so it got counterfeited and perverted by the enemy. It was not until the Jesus People Movement that the new rock sound was allowed in churches. But this was ten years too late. In the early 1980’s John Wimber, the founder of the Vineyard Church movement, had a vision in which he saw “garage bands” leading worship in churches. Garage bands are talented musicians that are unknown to the world. Sure enough, our modern-day worship and praise teams are now the equivalent of garage bands of the past. Interestingly, John Wimber himself was one of the original members of the Righteous Brothers band before he dedicated his life to Christ.

Torch bearers are coming forward
On July, 16, 2009 I had a dream that was more of a spiritual experience. It was the night before I was to leave for a ministry trip to Bakersfield, California and I was taken in the spirit to the meeting I was about to attend. During the experience I was instructed to assemble black handheld electronic devices that looked like electric torches but required no electricity. They were powered by the Holy Spirit and would be used to do ministry at an entirely new level. As I screwed the handles to the torches, it created a sound in the spirit that was like no sound I have heard on earth. It had an electronic pitch and reverberated forever. The sound was so strange that it caused many Christians to get angry and I was attacked by many of them who did not want to hear this new sound. The next day, in real life, I arrived at the conference and even though I had never been to this building it was exactly as I had seen it in the experience.

I knew that God was releasing a new sound and a new anointing that will be so radical that many Christians would be tempted to reject it. The torches and the sound were reserved for a generation that will take it and run with it to new levels of God’s supernatural glory unlike we have ever seen. It was interesting to note that the very weekend that this dream/experience happened, the largest oil field in Bakersfield was discovered. God used this to confirm that we are about to discover something new and very big in the spirit. It is also significant that Bakersfield played a role in Country music’s revolutionary “Outlaw” movement of the 1970’s that brought a radical change to the sound coming out of Nashville. God wants to use places like Bakersfield, small unknown towns that are ripe for change and willing to go outside the box to bring God’s glory.

A few days later I was back home in Santa Maria, California, and I was telling my wife about the experience. We pulled up to a traffic light and saw two teenagers carrying a torch of fire running up the street yelling with joy. It looked like the Olympic torch with real fire and it happened in real life. God spoke to me that it is time to release the “torch bearers” who will take His light and love to the world like never before.

The sounds of the radio
In the late 1990’s my wife and I planted our first church near Kent State University in Ohio. God spoke to me that we would reach this city by the “sounds of the radio”. After experimenting with various types of music, it was a 16-year-old worship team member who stepped forward with an amazing set of Vineyard worship lyrics put to music of several popular songs from rock bands like Blink 182, Metallica, and Lit. The result was astonishing! As we learned to worship to a different style than we were accustomed to, we enabled young people to connect with God. It is similar to several revivalists like Charles Wesley, Martin Luther, and William Booth who put worship hymns to popular bar tunes and music of their day in order to reach people for Jesus.

Now, years later, I am a conference speaker and a traveling minister. Two years ago God directed me to redeem songs from the radio and show people how to worship to them. I began plugging my iPod into the sound system at churches and in the middle of my talks to reiterate a point. I play parts of songs like, “I Can See Clearly Now [the Rain is Gone]”, or “Don’t Worry, Be Happy”.  I personally think that Tom Petty’s, “I Won’t Back Down” really should be a worship song. Later, after we leave the church service, we can hear these songs play and immediately be able to worship God and bring the anointing into any setting and situation. I still believe in having worship teams and music, but I am  also trying to get outside the box to discover more of what God has for us and for others who do not know God yet.

Embracing the new sound
The new sound from Heaven that I heard was electronic but different than the typical electronic music today. It brought to mind the major switchover in music from Big Band in the 1940’s to Rock-n-Roll music in the 1950’s. The previous generation did not like the new rock music but rock won out in the end. Now, 50 years later, there is a switch happening once again with rock beginning to lose out to techno. Just like previous generations, the old will hold on for dear life and even fight the new sound. I am a rocker at heart but I also see the value that my daughter’s generation places on the new music, so I am trying to embrace it. At age 50, I am creating “worship mix” and learning to DJ using a new handheld technology. Interestingly, the new technology is a small black handheld device that creates electronic music. This is what I saw in my dream that was instrumental in releasing the new Sound from Heaven.

This new sound is already on the earth right now! Imagine the possibilities if Christians and the Church-at-large could embrace this next move of God instead of rejecting it like in the past. I am praying that God will give us “ears that can hear” what the Spirit is saying and doing right now. Oh God, help us to partner with you for one of the greatest revivals in church history!

Three Demonic Attacks: The Fly, Crab, and Eyeball
Doug Addison

On August 18, 2009 I had a dream which was more of a “night vision” in which God showed me three demonic attacks and how these specific demons are able to work covertly in the life of Christians. I was shown three different types of demons and I was able to observe how they operated. These are three attacks coming against people right now.

How demons work
The insight I received in the dream was that demons were actually created by God and were once in Heaven until they rebelled and were cast to earth along with Satan. What we may not realize is that since they were originally angels in Heaven, they operate similarly to angels and God’s principle. Since they have been cut off from the life source of God, they attempt to gain power back through the connection with God through His people. Since it is not easy for a demon to inhabit a Christian, they have found ways to cling to them and try their best to remain unnoticed. Then when God’s power or anointing comes upon the person, the demon “cling-ons” begin to get empowered in an evil way through the anointing of God. Remember, this anointing was once their life flow and now they love to tap it off and distort it for evil.

Three demonic attacks

The Fly – This demon is so small and seemingly insignificant that most people are not even aware that it is present. Flies are drawn to garbage, so they are attracted to Christians who have sin that is not repented and is not under the Blood of Christ. This sin does not usually appear to be big or may not seem all that bad in the eyes of the Christian, and they may not even realize that they have it. It is things like gossip, unforgiveness, pride, unbelief, self-promotion, to name a few. The Fly demons are persistent and attach themselves to the sin of the Christian and wait.  Then as a Christian gets anointed with God’s power in any way, the Fly demon begins to slowly tap off small amounts of the anointing to empower the sin even more. If they remain unnoticed long enough, they can cause the sin to become much more serious and will spread to other areas of the person’s life.

The Crab – This demon tries to get people in a pinch or into stressful situations. I saw it hanging around a person’s feet and trying to get them tripped up into feeling stressed out or overwhelmed. Once the stress increases, the person loses their peace and is less likely to demonstrate the Fruit of the Spirit in their life. The minor irritations this demon causes will eventually develop into anger and even rage. Like the Fly, the Crab demon will light up with false power when the Christian gets anointed. If this demon is not dealt with, the person will experience stressful feelings all the time for no apparent reason. They will also begin to get angry but excuse their anger on just being frustrated. The result is that their anger remains unrepented and can eventually blind the person to their own condition.

The Eyeball – This was the trickiest of all three demons. The eye represents vision and prophetic destiny.  This demon, unlike the other two, was never really attached the person but stayed close enough as if it was part of them. The demonic Eyeball carries with it false vision and the ability to get people sidetracked. I saw the Eyeball bounce in front of a person as if to lead them to something new. When the person got closer, it went a different direction, causing them to zig-zag and get frustrated. This frustration would turn to anger and was being blamed on God.  In the dream I smashed the Eyeball and it went into hundreds of pieces that scattered and appeared to still be alive. This was a second phase of the attack to continue to get people to be distracted instead of looking to what God has for them.

The remedy
These three attacks primarily are to get Christians to talk against others, be angry, stressed, and feel directionless. Most of the people under the influence of these attacks are blaming God or other people for their conditions. The way to overcome these demons is to pray and ask God to reveal to you if you have any of these conditions. Ask God to open your eyes to any sin you have that you have not repented of. It will require repenting and changing any behaviors that the demons have been inflicting. If you have been angry, then you will need to slow down and take a time-out. If you have been blaming God for your lack of direction, you will need to ask forgiveness and focus your eyes back on Him. If you are stressed out, remember to seek first the Kingdom of God. Try taking a short prayer walk or drive and rise above your current situation. This is not intended to inflict fear but instead, shed light on how the enemy can get us tripped up. Remember that you have authority over these demons and they must flee once you expose them.

Psalm 139:23-24 NIV
Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

The Lost Art of Revelation: Secrets to Spiritual Growth
Doug Addison

Hour of God’s Power
Over the past year, I have had a radical turn around in my spiritual life. Amazingly, it came by going back to the basics of the things I believe, and finding ways to make them a daily lifestyle. Several years ago, while living in Los Angeles, I discovered that my day would flow much better if I spent 30-45 minutes a day doing a focused prayer walk and 15 minutes or so reading and meditating on the Bible. The results were so amazing that I was able to reduce my daily work hours because I knew what I needed to focus on at any given time.

When we moved to North Carolina – in a rural area with snakes, bugs, humidity and four seasons – I tried so hard to keep my “Hour of God’s Power” going, but was not able to be consistent. Eventually I sank back into the tyranny of the urgent and lost the edge I once had. It was pretty ironic that I was living in Moravian Falls, under an open Heaven environment in a cabin that was spiritually active with angelic activity, and I had trouble praying at the level I needed to in order to stay at a deep intimate level with God. It is out of relationship and intimacy with God that everything will flow. Don’t get me wrong, I still prayed and studied, but not at my fullest potential. Part of this may have been that, for me, California and the west coast is the land of my anointing. For some reason I fit best in the land of “fruits, flakes, and nuts!”

After moving back to California this year, I noticed that I began having more spiritual experiences with God and found it easy to get back into an Hour of God’s Power. I saw the changes and benefits almost immediately. While on my prayer walk, reading the Bible and taking a shower (in that order), I started to gain deep revelation about my day-to-day situations just like I had discovered several years ago while keeping this practice.  It is amazing that you know this in your head, but getting yourself to do it makes all the difference. I began making Matthew 6:33 my guiding verse:

Matthew 6:33 NIV  But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

The secret to spiritual growth
We can know the truth of the Bible, but if we are not actually doing it, then we are lacking a tangible revelation of the truth. Once we get a revelation of any verse or principle, it becomes alive in us and gives us a spiritual push forward. If we take the revelation a step farther, and we do something to practically use it or apply it in our life, then we begin to advance. If we do it regularly and make a habit or lifestyle from it, then momentum kicks in and we go to an entirely new level that few people are aware exists. If you take it even further and show others how to do it, you move ahead even more in your maturity, and you gain more wisdom and anointing because the more you give, the more you will receive. It really has been the secret to my success in my relationship with God and my ministry.

Some people misunderstand these Kingdom principles and push forward, making them rules instead of relational opportunities to be a conduit for God. The difference between striving and actively pursuing is that those who strive do not have the revelation and are doing it out of motivations like: “I am supposed to”; “it is good for me but I really don’t like it”; “I might get something out of it”; or  “it makes me a better Christian”, etc. When something becomes a rule, you lose intimacy with the giver of the gifts, and begin to lack grace and love for yourself and others.

The lost art of revelation
The principle of revelation is alive when God makes Himself real to us (Revelation 19:10). Those who commit their lives to Christ through a revelation of God usually experience a much more fulfilling spiritual life from those who do it out of a decision based on guilt, logic, or rules. Sometimes altar calls motivate people to come forward for the wrong reasons. When the Spirit draws us, as opposed to guilt or condemnation, then we connect with God at a much deeper level that is based on love, and we will see a greater level of change in our lives.

I have had several very deep revelations of verses from the Bible that have changed my life and now the lives of many. Most of my messages came through revelation which occurred during my Hour of God’s Power. You can go through my material or that of others and pick up principles that will change your life to some degree. But if you allow these principles to enlighten and motivate you through the Holy Spirit, then you cannot help but impact the world for God.

The Hour of God’s Power does not have to be an hour. It can be whatever you are comfortable with and feel God directing you to do. There are times for me that it is more and other times when it is less. The key is to grasp the revelation that things like reading the Bible, praying, worshipping, art, and yes, even exercising help you connect with God because you are a temple of the Holy Spirit. When you connect with God through intimacy and relationship, then you will want to spend more time with Him instead of doing it because you have to.

Ephesians 1:17-19 NIV
I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength.

May God bless you with eyes to see, ears that hear, and a spirit that perceives what it is He is calling you to right now!

The Realm: The Awakening Begins
Book review by Doug Addison

My ministry, InLight Connection, used to be located in Los Angeles. For over three years we trained outreach teams and helped establish a church there. Our first ministry intern was K.L. Glanville who was doing her graduate work at Fuller Seminary for her Masters in Divinity. She did a lot to help us get established and in return I personally mentored her in prophetic evangelism and helped motivate her to move forward with plans to start a publishing business. She went on to write and publish her first book as a result of my Accelerating into Your Life’s Purpose program.

In her words, “I had my iTunes set on shuffle with the option for about 600 songs. Within one week Doug’s audio message on ‘Getting Out of the SPIN Cycle’ played several times. I had been kind of drifting with my direction, waiting for ‘something’ to happen, but what really impacted me was that you don’t need to sit around waiting for something new when God has already told you to do something. Another thing that’s been helpful is the concept of doing ‘just one thing’ every day. This took many of my overwhelming tasks and made them into bite sized pieces, and allowed me to feel successful. I can encourage myself that I’ve done SOMETHING! “ Several people have written books in a very short period of time by utilizing the Accelerating Into Your Life’s Purpose program.

K.L.’s new novel The Realm: The Awakening Begins is a “must” read. Many have tried to write alternatives to books like Harry Potter or Twilight, but few have succeeded as well as Glanville. Kids and adults alike, Christians and non, have been gripped and captivated by this exciting new supernatural fiction series entitled “The Realm.” It could be described as Harry Potter meets Narnia in Slumdog Millionaire. It deals with spiritual and eternal realities few have addressed and places it uniquely in a setting of immense poverty. It’s unlike any book out there. My favorite part is that it includes the aspect of understanding dreams.

I highly recommend this book and the author, whom I know personally. She has done extensive research on much of the spiritual and supernatural aspects covered in the book, including dream interpretation, and woven it into a fascinating tale that will keep you and any kids you know on the edge of your seats. It’s hard to put down! One Jr. High girl who is an avid reader and loves Twilight recently said The Realm was even better.

K.L. Glanville is also available to speak about the book or other topics related to spirituality and young people. For information regarding having her speak, she can be reached at office@LuminationsMedia.com
