A Plan of Darkness to Bring Financial Ruin

On January 15, 2007 I had an encounter with God while living in Moravian Falls, North Carolina. I was gathering firewood in my backyard when a strong wind began to blow from the south. At first it sounded sweet and seductive, but as it increased in intensity it became deafening. In this spiritual experience the Holy Spirit allowed me to witness a plan of Satan designed to derail Christians in the area of finances.

When the wind stopped I stood shaken from the experience. Then another wind began to blow but this time it was the Holy Spirit speaking to me the meaning of what had just happened. I immediately ran to my office and wrote down what I heard.

The False Wind
The Holy Spirit showed me that in 2005 a deceptive spirit from darkness disguised as an “angel of light” was released like a wind that blew throughout the world, particularly in the USA. The plan of the enemy was to deceive Christians into listening to this deceptive word of direction and get them to believe it was from God. The deceptive instructions included things like: do not work but instead spend time with the Lord; sell everything and you will find the Lord; and do not store up any savings for the future because God will care for you. The deception also included promises of large returns from business deals and investments that eventually failed because they were not from God.

This demonic spirit and false instruction is similar to how Satan tempted Jesus during His time in the wilderness. Satan used scriptures that contained elements of truth but were out of context for the life of Jesus (Mathew 4). Many Christians who heard and acted on this false word stopped working and spent time praying and seeking God. Some people cashed in their retirement plans early and went to ministry schools and conferences over a period of a few years. Most of these people never got the satisfaction they were looking for and yet continued to go to more places seeking the Lord. Others used their life savings and incurred a high amount of credit card debt to take time off. And some people used their savings and borrowed money on business deals that failed miserably.

Some people felt an “impression” from God and others thought God was speaking to them through Bible verses. The enemy used verses such as Matthew 13:44, “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.” Mark 10:21, Jesus looked at him and loved him. “One thing you lack,” he said. “Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” These are just a couple of examples.

There are elements of truth in verses like these. I remember that God spoke to me in 2001 to take time off and spend it with Him and to sell everything and go after what He has for me to do. However, my wife and I asked for the wisdom of others and received confirmation that this radical calling was truly from God. The result was obvious to those around us as we launched our ministry, InLight Connection. When we follow instructions that are for sure God’s timing and will for our lives, the spiritual and financial return is very evident.

The Effects of This Plan Go Deep
The devastation that this evil spirit has caused is phenomenal. It came just before a huge economic downturn and it cleaned out the bank accounts of many Christians—leaving them with no savings to get through the difficult times at hand. It caused many people to incur a large amount of credit card debt. It also robbed the inheritance of the next generation.

Many children of the people who stopped working began to resent God. They wondered, “Why would God strip my family of money?” This plan was also designed to discourage the next generation from trusting God. In the experience, God showed me that the primary target for this attack was intercessors and Christian business people. The enemy wants to get intercessors bound in worry and debt to distract them from their place of prayer. He wants to get “kingdom minded” business people discouraged from taking risks in the future when God calls them to do so.

A Balance in the Kingdom
God wants us to impact the world with His love, power and acceptance. This requires balancing our lives with spending time with Him and spending time with others. Unfortunately, many Christians have been relationally wounded. This can cause people to withdraw from others and trust God only. When this happens we are not truly fulfilling the commission Jesus gave us to go to the world and help others (Matthew 28:19). In God’s Kingdom there needs to be a balance of believing and doing practical works (James 2:18–29). We need each other and therefore we need to get healed of emotional wounds that would cause us to withdraw from people and cut off the ability for others to speak into our lives.

Learning to hear and know the voice of God is crucial. John 10:27, “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.” Hebrews 5:14, “But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.” If we exercise our ability to hear God’s voice, we will not have to worry about being deceived.

“But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have let his house be broken into.” Luke 12:39 NIV

What I noticed with people who followed this deception is that they heard what they thought was God speaking to them. It came in the “still small voice”. Most of them did not get further confirmation beyond the initial impression they received. Some people did receive wisdom from others advising them to be cautious but they rejected it. On major decisions we must hear God through several means, not just an impression.

It is great to spend time with God, worshiping and soaking in His presence. At one time in my early Christian life, this is all I wanted to do. I had a sincere desire to not work and just be with my newfound love. This is common in the development of our relationship with God. But just as in a marriage, you may have the desire to spend time with the one you love, but eventually you need to work and build a home and ministry to sustain that love. God is calling us all to maturity.

Conclusion and response
This was one of many attacks coming upon Christians in the area of finances. God wants to bless Christians to have money to help people in need during the dark economic times ahead and to have the freedom to serve Him in what He has called you to. This will require us to get out of debt and be wise in our decision making. Just as Joseph gave wisdom to Pharaoh on how to respond to a coming catastrophic disaster, we need to be prepared to do the same (Genesis 41). God is now calling an army of “Josephs” to take what is intended for evil and turn it to good in the area of finances. These are Christians in business, education, entertainment, and government who can hear His voice and act on it in the right time.

I realize that not everyone who lost money in business during the last few years was deceived. Some people were being tested by God and others were simply robbed by the enemy. You will need to pray and ask God if this false spirit was the cause of loss to you or someone you love. I am writing to expose a plan of darkness and help people recover what they lost. If you fell prey to this deception, simply repent and ask God to restore all that was lost. If your children were involved you may want to consider asking their forgiveness and helping them understand God’s heart is love. If your business failed because you took a serious risk without getting wisdom from others, then repent and begin seeking God for the strategy to recover it all!

Sleepiness During the Day Could be God Trying to Speak to You!

I recently read Acts 10:10 and I noticed that Peter fell asleep during prayer and went into a trance and received revelation from God. Last week when I was speaking at a conference in South Africa the presence of angels came in the room and the crowd all got real sleepy. I am not really one to take naps during the day. A few years ago I was at a conference sitting on the front row and suddenly a wave of sleepiness hit me hard. I leaned my head back and drifted for just a few moments, and it lifted. I looked over at my friend sitting next to me and the same thing had happened to him. We concluded that when a woman sat down next to us who had been personally mentored by and ministered for years with Corrie ten Boom, (a minister who survived the Holocaust), the presence of God and ministering angles came with her. The anointing of God was so strong that it caused those sitting around her to experience a biblical trance which most thought was just sleepiness.

Yesterday I was about to buy a product on the internet. Then I got really sleepy all of a sudden, which seemed very unusual since I had just had a cup of tea. I lay down for just a few minutes and it lifted. All of a sudden I was struck with the idea to research the product further even though it was advertised on TV. I found a Web site that exposed it as a rip-off and that there are products available for a fraction of the price that work better. I am now more aware of the waves of unusual sleepiness that come suddenly. The next time you get hit with a wave of sleepiness that seems out of character, instead of getting a cup of coffee you may want to lay down for a minute. It could be God trying to speak to you!

I went to Cape Town, South Africa on March 21, 2009 to speak at a prophetic conference with Barbara Claassen of Prophetic Breakthrough Ministries, www.barbaraclaassen.co.za. As I landed, God began to speak to me about a radical change about to take place that would set into motion a chain reaction that would positively impact the entire earth for the Kingdom of God. Immediately I began having dreams of angels visiting me. At the conference I noticed the increase of angelic activity and the presence and power of God was extremely strong. We saw miracles take place and people healed and set free—in some cases instantly.

Power Evangelism Angel
Just before an evening session I received what I can only describe as a supernatural infusion of Kingdom Financial Strategies. As I delivered the message, the presence of a very large angel came with an anointing for businessmen and women to create finances for the Kingdom. Some refer to this as the “Joseph Anointing” which is demonstrated in Genesis 41 as Joseph interprets Pharaoh’s dreams and gives him prophetic direction on how to prosper during an economic downturn. In many cases there were immediate responses as strategies for business and finances came in. My own ministry received an answer to prayer that night for a financial need.

The next session the angel was back and this time nearly the entire conference was set free and healed of broken hearts and issues with wounds from authority. The session after that the angel was present and nearly everyone present experienced a manifestation of the Holy Spirit in their body with jolts of electricity, tingling, warmth, etc. Dozens were physically healed that night and there were reports back the next day of supernatural turnarounds, including someone about to commit suicide who was ministered to and saved.

I had not seen this type of power for a while and I had never seen an angel like this. It was like a Swiss Army knife, whatever was needed for the people, the angel would release an anointing for an immediate response. I telephoned a friend of mine in the US who is a prophet named Bob Jones to ask if he was aware of an angel like this. Bob told me the angel was Power Evangelism and it was being assigned to me to come back to the US to bring about a revival.

The Gathering Angels
That night I had a spiritual experience. I don’t know if I dreamed it, was really there, or it was a vision. I was driving down U.S. Highway 101 in California. I noticed at the side of the road that there were dozens of Cal-Trans workers (California Department of Transportation). I looked closer and I saw their faces turn into ancient African faces with eyes of blazing fire. They were busy scooping up handfuls of white balls of light from the grass. They were able to find these lights that had been overlooked and discarded by others. Then the fear of God came over me as I realized these were the angels that have been sent by God to gather in a great revival (Luke 10:2 and Matthew 24:31). I knew that this group of angels had come from Africa to the U.S. to bring about revival.

The Power Evangelism Angel and the Gathering Angels are now in California preparing for a great move of God that will sweep the entire earth. Their focus will be on the outcasts and people that are called by God but overlooked by the current religious system. Though this particular move from God is starting in California, it will not be limited to California but will sweep the globe. Many different types of visitations and outpourings from God are happening right now all over the earth. This is just one of them.

White Feather from Heaven
Many of the prophets at the conference in South Africa were telling me that an angel has been assigned to go back with me to the U.S. for revival. Since this is so serious, I asked God for a confirmation. At the next meeting a white feather literally appeared in mid-air and floated down to the palm of my hand in plain view of everyone. As this happened the power of God hit the place quite strongly. I slid out of my seat and was on the floor in an Acts 10:10 trance type of experience. I saw the angel holding my hand and I began to receive a deep level of revelation that has not stopped since.

Sir Isaac Newton’s Third Law of Motion and Revival
As I was leaving South Africa I received a prophetic word from God that what is happening will be similar to Newton’s Third Law of Motion: “For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.” The action of the angel from South Africa being given to the United States will create a reaction in South Africa of an equal proportion and there will be a reaction in the Spirit.

There will be a revival in South Africa as well as in other parts of the world. When I got home from my trip I had an encounter in which I was taken in the Spirit to South Africa and shown a division that God is healing. There are divine strategies being released from Heaven to help remove obstacles to unity in South Africa and around the world. Unity among Christians will be a key to sustaining any revival or move of God.

How to respond
I was really reluctant to release this article, especially after the recently derailed move of God in 2008. I am not saying this will have the same level of impact as previous moves of God or that my ministry has an exclusive right to what is happening. I do feel that I must tell people about what I experienced and begin to impart this as much as possible. In the past I have actually downplayed many of my supernatural encounters because I don’t like sensationalism, but his one is significant. As I got home and began to do research on the internet I saw several other ministries release articles on angelic encounters over the past few days. I have been saying for years that we are sitting on one of the biggest revivals in Church history.

What I noticed is this: as these angels and the anointing they bring are released, they take what we already have to a new level. So I encourage you to begin to ask God for more of what He has called you to do. Begin to step out and use your gifts right now. Ask God to give you opportunities to share His love. Watch as you will begin to see more supernatural signs and manifestations of the Holy Spirit as this is released.

Luke 10:2 NIV: He (Jesus) told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”
