My hair is a big deal to me. Call it vane (my wife does) but I don?t have any hobbies or pets but my hair takes about as much effort. I have had nothing but bad experiences with getting my hair cut in North Carolina. Since I do events on the West Coast every couple of months it seems to work out to get to my 2 favorite hair artist in San Francisco or Los Angles. Well, fate had it that I missed my last hair cut opportunity in LA so I could meet with a Hollywood producer instead. I was now locked into a NC hair cut. So I ran an ad on www.craigslist.com for someone who could do a Rod Stewart hair do ?with Goldwell Colortouch: -8N +5cc of 9G +20 Volume and highlights. I am not asking for much. Honest. I interviewed several potential stylists and chose one in Charlotte. Yes, I prayed about it and drove an hour and a half (beats flying 2500 miles) and was sure I would break through this negative association I developed. Unfortunately ? I came out looking more like Barry Manilow again. Maybe I can get a gig in Las Vegas for a while.
Living in a rural town in the South has its advantages. No one can hear you cry in the woods as you miss big city fine dining. I guess we could take a Cooking Road Kill class and expand our menu options. Food is a big deal for people who have lived in California. I guess I was shocked the first time I ordered the Squash and Zucchini vegetables and they came battered and deep fried. So I set out on a quest to leave no stone unturned. Hey, I’ll settle for good fried chicken. I decided this week to stop at the gas station that advertised “Chicken and Taters”. Could this be the one stop dream? Fried Chicken, Krispy Kream donuts and Pepsi? I had hope as I walked in then I saw the signs for Discount Cigar and Cigarettes and Live Bait. Hmm.. A bait shop restaurant. I might have to pass on this one. The search continues.
Blogs can be pretty stupid sometimes. You ever notice that most people Blog about not blogging ? why they can?t seem to keep their Blog current. Well, here goes another one. Somehow, being on the road (don?t know why they call it that because I spend more time in the sky flying to and from events than on the road ? I guess being in the sky sounds too weird) gets me pretty tired and honestly the last thing I want to do is turn on my computer and try to come up with a funny blog. I?d much rather turn on my computer and play a few matches of internet backgammon! Just got home from San Diego on the Monday morning red eye. I got in my truck just after at 6am in the airport parking garage. When do you know you need a day off? Well I woke up at 10am still in the parking garage with my truck running. Huh ? okay I am a bit tired?
